William M. Siu

Vice President
General Manager, Channel Platforms Group
INTEL CORPORATION


William M. Siu is vice president and general manager of the Channel Platforms Group. He leads an organization whose charter is to expand Intel's worldwide presence by accelerating global channel growth through innovative business models and platform solutions tailored to meet local market needs.

Prior to this position, Siu was vice president and general manager of the Desktop Platforms Group, responsible for the design, development, and market development of Intel’s desktop platform solutions, including processors, chipsets, motherboards, software, and services.

Previously, Siu served as vice president, Microprocessor Products Group, and general manager, Performance Microprocessor Division. He started with Intel in 1980 as a device physicist working on advanced DRAM cells. Siu has also held several engineering and management positions in Design, Silicon Technology Development, and Assembly/Package Technology Development.

Siu was born in Hong Kong in 1951. He attended high school, college and graduate school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He received his Bachelor of Applied Sciences in 1973, his Master of Applied Sciences in 1975, and his Ph.D. in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering in 1978.

Prior to Intel, Siu worked at Bell-Northern Research, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada as a member of Scientific Staff, and Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, as an assistant professor of Biomedical Engineering.
Siu was appointed an Intel vice president in 1995 and elected a corporate vice president in 2001.
